Program Overview

The Master of Creative Writing (Research) allows students to become part of a community of writers and develop their skills to a professional level. Students initially undertake coursework in research methods and writing theory or practice, leading to a major work of supervised research comprising a 40,000 word Major Manuscript, plus an 8000 word critical exegesis, in which students demonstrate their mastery of the craft and understanding of their own writing in relation to historical and contemporary literary milieus.
