Program Overview

The Graduate Certificate in Divinity is a short, flexible course which introduces students to the academic study of the Christian faith, with a particular focus on the Christian scriptures (students may choose to pursue focussed study on either the Old or New Testament or the Bible as a whole) and theology or Church history. The course includes two core and two elective subjects, with the latter providing space for students to pursue their own intended professional and educational outcomes. The flexibility of the award makes it ideal for people who are studying with specific vocational goals in mind (e.g., Christian teachers looking to broaden their employment opportunities) as well as those who plan to use their learning in a variety of different Christian ministry contexts.

Admissions Criteria {Tabor's Bachelor qualifications are nationally-recognised through our formal registration with TEQSA (Tertiary Education Quality Standards Australia). As such, we are pleased to provide our admissions criteria via the link above.}

Graduates may find employment in local churches in associate leadership roles, as lay leaders, or may elect to develop their own ministries. Alternatively, graduates may use the award as a form of professional development or "broadening qualification", possibly allowing them to move into a different, albeit related, role within their organization (e.g., a teacher could complete the award as the basis for teaching Religious Education in his/her school, a nurse could become a pastoral carer).
