Program Overview

This research masters provides students with an advanced body of knowledge that includes an understanding of recent developments in theological or biblical studies, and relevant research principles and skills. The heart of this course is a 40,000 word research thesis, which allows students to explore an area of interest to them and which contributes to theological or biblical scholarship. The course aims to develop graduates who possess highly developed theological analysis or exegetical skills, who are capable of reflecting critically on the practice of theological or biblical studies in the light of contemporary scholarship, and who are able to design and undertake high quality research.

Graduates may find employment in Christian tertiary education institutions (eg. Bible colleges, seminaries) as undergraduate lecturers in their area/s of specialization, or as senior pastors / church leaders. The degree also serves as a pathway for entrance into a research doctorate (the PhD).
