Program Overview

The Bachelor of Ministry provides students with a broad understanding of the theological basis for, and nature and practice of Christian ministry. All students take a balanced program of biblical studies, Christian history and thought, and ministry studies, and have the opportunity to focus on a particular ministry specialisation (church leadership, pastoral care, youth and young adults, contextual mission, or intercultural studies). The course aims to develop graduates who are able to engage in ministry in a variety of contexts in a theologically, critically and personally reflective fashion. An intentional program of Spiritual Formation occurs throughout the degree, providing time and space for students to grow in their relationship with God.

This degree is particularly suited to those who feel called, or who are exploring their call, to some form of Christian ministry vocation. Graduates may find employment in a variety of roles both within and outside the church (e.g., as pastors, chaplains, Christian pastoral support workers). Graduates are able to apply for ordination to various denominational bodies, if they so desire.
