Course Overview

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply a broad range of competencies in a varied work context in the music industry, using some discretion and judgement and theoretical knowledge. They may provide support to a team.The CUA30915 Certificate III in Music Industry qualification consists of 4 Core units, and 7 Elective units. To be awarded the full qualification, all 11 units of competency must be satisfactorily completed.

  • Students wishing to specialise in Performance must select all 4 electives under 'Performance' as well as 3 additional electives.
  • Students wishing to specialise in Business must select a minimum of 4 electives under 'Business' as well as 3 additional electives.

  • CUACMP301 Implement copyright arrangements
  • CUAIND303 Work effectively in the music industry
  • CUAMLT302 Apply knowledge of style and genre to music industry practice

Elective Units (7)Students select from the units below depending on if they are specializing in Performance or  Bussiness. Performance Electives

  • CUAMPF203 Develop ensemble skills for playing or singing music
  • CUAMPF301 Develop technical skills in performance
  • CUAMPF402 Develop and maintain stagecraft skills
  • CUAMPF404 Perform music as part of a group

Bussiness Electives

  • BSBADM307  Organise schedules
  • CUADIG201  Manage interactive content
  • CUAFOH301  Provide seating and ticketing services
  • CUAIND304  Plan a career in the creative arts industry
  • CUAMKG301 Assist with marketing and promotion
  • SITEEVT304 Provide event staging support

Term 3 (Mid Year Intake)  closes 10th July 2017

Entry Requirements:
 Students wishing to focus on the 'performance' stream of electives must provide their own instrument.
Training Sessions: 3-4 Lecturers / week
