ABOUT THE PROFESSIONAL ENRICHMENT SEMINAR:
“To preach a text, we must first make every attempt to understand the text. In this way we discharge our accountability to the biblical author. We will examine the biblical text of Genesis 1-2 in a close reading, giving attention to the meanings of the words and to the cultural background of the ancient Near East. From that study we will draw conclusions about what the message of the text is and how we can preach that message effectively.”
This Seminar is a day-long, stand alone event which can also be taken as part of a postgraduate intensive within Tabor’s ministry awards. The intensive, entitled ‘Preaching Challenging Text from the Old Testament,’ runs from (July 22 – 25) and is taught by Prof John Walton, Dr Aaron Chalmers and Dr Melinda Cousins.
