Professional Experience in schools
Professional Experience in schools is an essential component of Tabor's School of Education courses. Tabor recognises the importance of the Professional Experience and therefore exceeds the TRB requirement for the practical Student Teacher component undertaken in schools. The Professional Experience begins as early as the first semester of the course. Students progress from observation in the classroom, to increasing responsibility in teaching. The Professional Experience component of the course takes place under the close supervision of a Teaching Mentor, a School Supervisor and a Tabor Adelaide Teacher Educator. The program is outlined in the Professional Experience Participant Handbook for Student Teachers.
