Rachel’s Story
katherine, nt
Rachel studied Bachelor of Intercultural Studies
Adelaide, Millswood SA
I have been involved in full time ministry with Wycliffe working with indigenous peoples in the Northern Territory since 2010. I am passionate about the Kriol Bible and equipping indigenous adults to work with their children in a language that speaks to their hearts. I have been responsible for developing Kriol Bible activities for young people, and leading youth camps, Bible Storying and kids clubs. My work also extends to include any and all aspects of walking life with the mob, such as supporting church leaders at funerals, helping people through family pressure, and providing training and transport.
My studies at Tabor, which included field education, community development practices, introduction to Christian ministry, biblical interpretation and indigenous youth studies, have equipped me to serve holistically Christian indigenous adults who are involved in working with their young people. Tabor has played an important role in helping to identify my ministry gifts, develop the ministry skills and passion God has placed within me, and prepare me for long term ministry in a culturally sensitive fashion.
