Rebecca’s Story

Adelaide, SA

Rebecca studied Bachelor of Applied Social Science (Youth Work)

Adelaide, Millswood SA

One important idea that has stayed with me from studying Youth Work at Tabor is the value of creating experiences for people and using those experiences to build real connections and real relationships. I think that the Bachelor of Social Science (Youth Work) degree at Tabor taught me was to engage with professional but personal experiences. Through these experiences, I am able to engage people and build trust.

Now I run my own company called Ochre Dawn Creative Industries. We are a company of storytellers. We like to share the stories of the organisations we work with. These organisations can be corporate, government or not for profit charities. Some of the organisations I am working with now are corporate clients who are trying to engage with the wider community and develop a heart and soul. So, I teach them a bit about community, development, diversity and inclusion. My time at Tabor was the start of a realisation that business and youth work could blend together. This is possible in management roles in the youth sector, but also in what I am doing now.

Here is a small article about Rebecca’s business story.
