The Undergraduate Certificate in Music offers a practical and inspiring introduction to formal music study for those who love music and want to grow in skill, confidence, and creative expression. Whether you’re an instrumental hobbyist, singer-songwriter, passionate creative, or church musician, the course centres on applied, hands-on learning and is designed to be accessible to musicians who may not have extensive formal theory training. It supports musicians at a variety of stages, including lay musicians and those returning to study.
Delivered through the Tabor Institute of Music, this course blends performance, musicianship, and creative practice in a supportive, faith-filled learning environment. Core units and a range of electives allow students to tailor the course to their musical interests and calling, while studying alongside Bachelor-level students and learning from experienced, industry-active faculty.
No prior tertiary study is required. Graduates receive full credit for completed units and may transition seamlessly into the Bachelor of Music.
About This Course
The Undergraduate Certificate in Music is structured to allow students to specialise their award through a focused study pathway in worship. This specialisation can be reflected on student’s academic transcript and is achieved through the selection of targeted electives that integrate musical excellence with worship-centred creativity and leadership.
The worship pathway is ideal for students who are actively involved in church music or worship leadership, or who feel called to serve the Church through music. Students may choose to complete a general Undergraduate Certificate in Music or a specialised award in Music (Worship), enabling them to align their studies with their musical focus, ministry context, and vocational direction.

Places will be allocated on the basis of applicant suitability assessed through audition, aural and theory tests, as well as academic results. Book your Music Audition here.
